I'm solo — do I need it?
In Florida construction you can usually file an exemption instead. But note: many GCs require subs to carry comp anyway, exemption or not.
What if my sub gets hurt?
If your 1099 sub has no comp of their own, their injury can land on your policy — collect COIs from every sub.
